My favourtie reggae artise has to be Buju Banton. I love the lyrics and rhythm of his music. He became one of my favourites once i heard the single, "Destiny" That was a very concious and hard reggae. Another favourite artise of mines who has recently passed away. is Lucky Dube, i loved his album "RESPECT" and the single ONE. That was an amazing song and the llyrics were just concious and beautiful.
Dancehall artise such as vybz kartel & Movado, bring down to true meaning of reggae and dancehall music. The lyrics within the songs degrade women and are usually very violent. I am not going to deny that i listen to them because of its beat and rhythm. but i don't support what they have to say within their songs.
